SPINAL FLOW · NAPA VALLEY
You've been carrying this long enough
Spinal Flow is a gentle, precise practice that works with your body's own intelligence to release what it's ready to let go of. Your body softens when it finally feels safe, at Studio Be — serving Napa Valley, the North Bay, and beyond.
What Is Spinal Flow?
Spinal Flow is a gentle, non-invasive healing modality developed by Dr. Carli Axford that works with the spine and nervous system to support the body’s innate ability to heal, adapt, and thrive
The philosophy of Spinal Flow is that healing occurs in a state of ease and safety. Through gentle contacts at specific access points along the spine, we create the conditions for the nervous system to move out of stress responses and into a more parasympathetic state, where the body can restore, reorganize, and heal more effectively.
Rather than forcing change, Spinal Flow supports greater connection and communication between the brain and spine, helping the body release stored physical, chemical, and emotional stress that may have accumulated over time.
There is no cracking, twisting, or forceful manipulation. Sessions are gentle, yet people often report improvements in pain, posture, mobility, stress levels, emotional wellbeing, and overall quality of life.
Developed by Dr. Carli Axford. Offered at Studio Be Napa by Melanie Clampit, Certified Spinal Flow Practitioner.
What Your Nervous System Has Been Waiting for…
People often seek out Spinal Flow for pain, tension, headaches, stress, anxiety, poor sleep, fatigue, or simply a sense that something feels stuck.
Spinal Flow works at the level where many of these challenges actually live: the nervous system, the spine, and the patterns the body has been running on autopilot for years. By helping the body release stored stress and shift out of stress responses, it creates the conditions for greater ease, resilience, healing, and lasting change.
What you might notice:
Relief from anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and emotional heaviness
Reduced chronic pain, headaches, and tension
Improved sleep and energy
Improved posture, mobility, and ease of movement
Emotional release without having to talk through everything
Feeling lighter, calmer, and more at ease
Who This Is For?
Spinal Flow may be a good fit for you if you see yourself in any of the following:
• You’ve tried multiple approaches and still feel like something is missing.
• You know stress is affecting your body, but you’re not sure how to release it.
• You’re looking for a gentler, more holistic approach.
• You’re interested in nervous system regulation, somatic healing, energy work, or the connection between the body, mind, and emotions.
• You feel stuck in old patterns, or fight, flight, freeze, or fawn.
• You’re highly sensitive and find yourself absorbing more from life than your nervous system has had the capacity to process.
• You’re seeking relief from physical discomfort while addressing the bigger picture of what’s contributing to it.
• You’re already investing in yourself through therapy, yoga, Pilates, massage, coaching, energy work, or other wellness practices and are looking for additional support for your body and nervous system.
Spinal Flow is suitable for people of all ages, from infants to seniors.
MEET YOUR SPINAL FLOW PRACTITIONER
Hi, I’m Melanie Clampit
I came to Spinal Flow after more than 25 years of working in the fields of healing, change, and human potential. Along the way, I’ve explored and facilitated a wide range of body-based, energetic, and awareness-based modalities.
I was drawn to Spinal Flow for its effectiveness, gentleness, and the way it honors the body’s own wisdom. I work with many highly sensitive and empathic individuals, and I appreciate that Spinal Flow offers a gentle, non-invasive approach that supports change without overwhelm.
I bring warmth, presence, and decades of lived and professional experience into every session. This work can be deeply personal and vulnerable, and creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported is something I care deeply about.
Spinal Flow is one of the ways I bring many of the experiences, perspectives, and tools I’ve gathered over the years together in my work.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. There is no cracking, manipulation, or deep pressure. Spinal Flow uses light touch at specific points along the spine to engage the nervous system's own capacity to reorganize and release. It's gentle enough for all ages, including those who are highly sensitive or have had difficult experiences with bodywork.
-
Most people describe a deep sense of calm, warmth, or tingling. Some experience spontaneous movement or breath shifts. Some feel an emotional release they didn't see coming. Some just feel profoundly still. Every session and every body is different. There's no right way to experience it.
-
Every body is different, so there’s no one-size-fits-all answer.
Some people notice changes after their first session, while others experience more gradual shifts over time. Factors such as how long an issue has been present, past injuries, chronic stress, lifestyle, and overall nervous system capacity can all influence the process.
I often use the analogy of moving the dial. While feeling relaxed and experiencing symptom relief can happen quickly, creating lasting changes in how the body functions, adapts, and organizes itself often takes more time. Posture, movement patterns, tension, and the effects of years of accumulated physical, chemical, and emotional stress don’t usually develop overnight, and they rarely unwind overnight either.
The goal isn’t simply to help you feel better for a few days. It’s to support your body in making meaningful shifts that can create more ease, resilience, and capacity over time.
Some people are looking for occasional support. Others are interested in creating deeper, longer-term change. We’ll assess your progress together and determine what feels right for your goals and what your body is showing us along the way.
